“I’m in a parking lot, where is this place?” Look for the shed in the corner and there you will find the burgers, welcome to the world of Dirty Burger.
He says: On a casual night out with the boys, we stumbled upon a place called Dirty Burger. This was a pleasant surprise, after trying to search for a place that serves food after 8pm around Kentish Town, when our adventurous expedition to Lucky Chip’s Lucky Fried Chicken pop-up failed miserably as they were closed on a Monday! Dirty Burger is located just off Highgate Road in the parking lot. Walking in you wonder if the dirty refers to the style of burger or the fact that it is made in a place that looks like a derelict garage.
The food: We got some drinks and they had Camden Pale Ale and Moretti on tap, this was a great way to start our boys’ burger bash. We ordered our food and it came out quickly like good fast food should. We had the cheeseburger, fries and the onion fries. I would order the onion fries again in a heartbeat – they were well seasoned and an interesting take on the classic onion rings.
Here is the burger itself in it’s dirty, messy glory. It was so delicious that we had seconds even though we were full.
The verdict: Dirty Burger reminds me of the original MeatLiquour when it was a popup in New Cross. Highly recommended it if you just want a simple, reasonably priced burger that tastes good and you don’t mind a short trek outside the usual Central London burger joints in Soho and Marylebone. Since my fiance is on a wedding ‘health kick’, Dirty Burger is not somewhere that I would take her as she’s avoiding carbs at the moment. However, it’s the perfect venue for a no fuss, no frills get together with your guy mates to enjoy a man’s favourite simple pleasures of boozy beer and beefy burgers. If I lived closer to Kentish Town, it would be my go-to for a hangover snack or quick feed. Over and out, time to pass out from those two burgers!
